A Member's Perspective - Remaining firmly grounded

Wipe the sweat from your brow, the two points are ours! The big ask, beating the Cowboys up North. Giving us a top-four spot! You beauty!

Bigger and better

Some say we almost blew it, I beg to differ. I think we did a bloody good job with only two men on the bench and Sam and Alex on the sideline. We could have easily run out of steam, but we didn't. There is something special about this team. They are doers, they are winners and they have more to give.

With Saint George going well, this season is a storyline in the making. They have the best team they've had in a very long time, and our team is warming up and shortening the odds.

We may have a photo finish towards the end of the season against our rivals. Another bumble against Graham would be lovely!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The mountain is steep with a lot of obstacles. 15 of them to be exact. I cannot shake this snowball effect. I think we are just going to get bigger and better.

My favourite kind of try

Look at what Cook did last week. His try was scored before he even had the ball in his hands. He read the field, he timed it perfectly and wham bam, 4 points in the bag.

We have been starting the games fast and notching up tries early and with George scoring my favourite kind of try and muscling over the line I cannot help but be excited. We can score from everywhere, at any time, via any player.

I think our boys know this but at the same time are remaining firmly grounded. This can be a harsh game, and god forbid, the refs can change the momentum in a second.

Measuring our ability

This week's game will give us a good idea of where we are at. With the Warriors quietly chugging along, they have one more win under their sleeve than us but they have had a few shockers that weigh them down.

We loving seeing old mate Bully, but we do not like him getting one up on us. The game will be expansive so I am really looking forward to a lot of breaks, and with GI taking on the number 1 while Alex is out, some goannas would go down a treat.

We win this one, we will see a few heads turn. Recovery is key this week. I hope Seibold is all over it because I am absolutely ready to step it up a gear and put it on the 2018 season. Up the Mighty Rabbitohs!
