Cody Walker, Braidon Burns and Tyrell Fuimaono attended the 2017 National Dreamtime Awards in Sydney on Friday night where fellow Rabbitoh Dane Gagai was nominated in the Male Sportsperson Of The Year category.
The Dreamtime Awards is an opportunity for First Nation people from across our country to come together and recognise excellence in the categories of Sport, Arts, Academia and Community.
Gagai earned his nomination after a breakout representative year that saw him debut for the Kangaroos in the Rugby League World Cup and become the first winger to win the Wally Lewis Medal as best player of the Origin series.
Despite Gagai missing out on the award to Adelaide AFL star Eddie Betts, his teammate Braidon Burns described the night as a positive for all Indigenous people.
"It's a great night recognising the achievements of Indigenous people all across the country," said Burns.
"I feel extremely lucky to be a part of it."
Rabbitohs second-rower Tyrell Fuimaono echoed his teammate's thoughts.
"I had an awesome night at the National Dreamtime Awards," said Fuimaono.
"It's great to celebrate all the Indigenous talent that has been produced throughout the year."
