It's been a whirlwind year for South Sydney Rabbitohs – and now NSW – winger Taleena Simon.
In the Clubs' inaugural women's side, she has already managed to score thirteen tries in just nine matches, including bagging six tries in their round 9 78-2 crushing of Wentworthville – already beating the men's try-scoring record at five in a match.
But for the talented winger, last Friday's inaugural Women's State of Origin victory is one of, if not, the highlight of her 2018 season, particularly considering it was her first match in the famous sky blue.
"It was so exciting to win it on my debut. I'm over the moon right now," she said.
With the women's game being the fastest growing area in Rugby League, the support at North Sydney Oval was immense, and Simon paid tribute to those who braved the cold to go out and support the best of the best in the women's competition.
"It's been crazy. It's so good to see so much support for the women's game and I can't wait until next year to see what the future holds for it."
In a close 16-10 encounter, Simon put the victory down to one simple mantra.
"Everyone was just doing their jobs and that made us get the win."
