The South Sydney junior teams had a strong weekend with all teams claiming points in their Round 5 match-ups at Redfern Oval.
UNE Harold Mathews Cup
The Under 16s returned to winning ways this week as they battled past friendly rivals the North Sydney Bears 32-26. It was a classic back-and-forth match but a hat-trick from South Sydney's Joe Suaalii helped the Harold Mathews side back into the top eight.

In the SG Ball Cup, the Under 18s drew 24-24 against the Bears in a pulsating clash at Redfern Oval. Two tries from Aidan Manowski and a perfect conversion rate from Kaylib Savage just wasn’t enough as the Bears matched them all the way.

After a week off, the Under 18s Women's team returned in fine form, getting over the top of the Parramatta Eels 30-24. Kiarna Dymock was the star as she bagged a brace in the six-point win.
