The Souths Juniors will play their last regular season game this weekend against the Balmain Tigers and the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval, with the Under 16s boys and Under 18s girls, all vying for a position in the top eight.
For the Under 16s boys, there are a couple of equations at play. Currently sitting in tenth spot on the ladder with eight points, the Harold Mathew side are in a three-way tie for eighth spot with the Illawarra Steelers and Western Suburbs Magpies, who are above Souths due to a better points differential.
The task for the Red and Green is simple, beat the Balmain Tigers who are above them on nine points. A win on Saturday will give Souths Juniors the best chance of finishing in the top eight but they will need either, the Steelers or the Magpies to lose if they are to be a part of the finals next weekend.
The Under 18s boys will be looking to finish their season strong with a win over the Tigers at Leichhardt Oval. With no finals at play, Souths Juniors and the Tigers will battle it out for 13th place.
The Under 18s girls have already locked up a position in the top eight but have a chance to improve their current position with a win over the Wests Tigers. If Souths win, they will either finish in their current position of seventh or in sixth, depending on the result of the St. George Dragons game. A loss could see them drop down a spot but this is highly unlikely due to their superior points differential over the Parramatta Eels who are below them.
