Rabbitohs Head Coach, Michael Maguire, named a new-look line-up for this week’s clash against the Parramatta Eels, with skipper Greg Inglis set to shift from fullback as part of the changes.
Inglis will line-up at five-eighth for the Rabbitohs on Friday, partnering Adam Reynolds in the halves in a shake-up designed to spark the men in Red and Green according to the Head Coach.
“I’m looking forward to seeing ‘Greggy’ back at five-eighth,” said Maguire.
“Greg and I have spoken about various things with our team and being able to play a different style than what we probably have in the last couple of weeks.
“Obviously when you’re going through a period like we have, we’re working really hard to come up with a few little changes to ignite us and that was one of them.
“To put Greg back to five-eighth – I think it’s going to give us a great opportunity down that left edge. Alex Johnston coming back in is pretty handy for us too – we’ve got that little bit of speed coming from behind.”
Souths Junior, Johnston, returns from injury in the match at his preferred position of fullback where he will link up with the likes of fellow Junior Aaron Gray and Dane Nilsen on the Club’s wings.
Inglis has previously played five-eighth, most notably in the 2007 Grand Final where he won the Clive Churchill Medal for his performance.
