The NRL action returns to Perth this Sunday when the Rabbitohs take on the Gold Coast Titans in Round 13 of the Premiership at nib Stadium – a venue that has become a home away from home for the men in Red and Green.
The last three years at the venue saw the Rabbitohs come away with consecutive victories against the New Zealand Warriors in what have become classic matches thanks to the displays of grit, determination and flamboyance.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire is looking forward to the return.
“It’s a bit of a home away from home now,” said Maguire of heading back to nib Stadium.
“We’ve been doing it for a while now. We get a lot of support and it’s amazing how many Rabbitohs are over in Perth.
“You look in the stands throughout the game and there’s a lot of Red and Green, so looking forward to that again.”
Both the Rabbitohs and Titans come into the game locked on 12 points apiece and currently sit just outside the top eight, meaning there’s plenty on the line this week.

Maguire has named both of his State of Origin representatives – Adam Reynolds and Greg Inglis – for Sunday’s clash, and the mentor is looking forward to seeing what his reps will bring back to club-land in the all-important clash.
“Going into that arena, you definitely learn,” said Maguire.
“Obviously you’re mixing around with some of the best players in the game and you’re learning as a player all the time.
“To be able to be exposed to those sorts of things I think is definitely going to be great for Adam, but for GI too.”
After enjoying the bye in Round 12, the men in Red and Green have continued their preparations off-site at Coogee Oval in recent days and will fly out to the side’s Western Australian home of Perth to take on the Titans at nib Stadium.
“We’ve still been improving on that in the last couple of weeks. We’ve come off the back of a couple of wins but we’re still a long way off from where we need to be,” said Club outside-back, Dane Nielsen.
“They (the Titans) have been playing some good footy this year, and I think even a couple of games that they’ve lost they’ve been right in it and only lost by a couple of points, so we’re expecting tough opposition.
“They play a tough style of footy and as I said before, on their day they’re really good – we expect nothing different on Sunday.”

Spotlight – The Reps
Both Greg Inglis (QLD) and Adam Reynolds (NSW) plied their trade in Origin I, with Inglis’ Maroons coming away with a hard-fought 6-4 victory. Rated as one of NRL.com’s best players for New South Wales, Reynolds put in a strong performance in his maiden Origin outing, directing the team around the field with intent while also not shying away from the infamous physical workload associated with the origin format. Rabbitohs skipper, Inglis, also did his bit for Queensland as they came away with the points only this time playing in the centres. What will the pair bring to this week’s clash in Perth? Time will tell.
