Rd 6 SG Ball Preview vs Dragons

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be chasing back-to-back wins for the first time in the 2023 SG Ball Cup this Saturday.

The Sea Eagles broke through for their first victory at Blacktown last Saturday with a crushing 34-14 win over the Bulldogs in round five after a tough opening month.

A dominant first half display by Coach Brett Fulton's men saw the Sea Eagles lead 22-0 at half-time.

Winger Teapo Stoltman and second-rower Max Stoltman crossed for two tries each with the Sea Eagles running in six tries to three.

Manly full-back/captain Lehi Hopoate and centre Koby Douglas also scored tries. Half-back Tylor Bunting kicked three goals and winger Josh Clark two goals.

“We completed well and controlled the game. It was a big effort from the team after losing Tylor and Antonio at half-time through injury,’’ Fulton said.

“The pleasing aspect was the boys showed their ability to continue to perform under adversity.

“It’s going to be a good challenge this Saturday against St George.”

The Sea Eagles tackle the Dragons at Mascot Oval at 11.30am.

Both teams have won one match each with Manly in 13th place and the Dragons 14th.
