Souths Cares program, New Careers for Aboriginal People (NCAP), has continued to achieve fantastic results across Western Sydney with another successful client finding employment.
After overcoming many adversities, NCAP client Donna Carrol has found employment and is thriving in her new role.
Donna was referred to the NCAP program after struggling to secure employment despite numerous qualifications and a strong employment history. Donna was battling depression, anxiety and was at risk of homelessness.
Souths Cares Employment Advisor, Chantelle Young worked intensively with Donna to help her secure a job interview with Sydney Regional Aboriginal Corporation.
Donna was successful in obtaining employment as Aboriginal Disability Advocate and now manages a caseload of clients, assisting them with housing, food, medical issues, income support and counselling.
After being in the role for more than four months, Donna is now a vital part of the team Sydney Regional Aboriginal Corporation and is loving the role.
"I couldn't be any happier for Donna. She has worked extremely hard to gain this role and is now helping other members of her community," Chantelle Young explained.
Donna's success typifies the quality results that the NCAP program is achieving, with over 450 Aboriginal candidates placed into employment by since the program commenced in 2015.
