John Sutton says the Rabbitohs are looking to come out strong from the kick-off and compete for 80 minutes against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles this Monday night at Allianz Stadium.
Sutton feels the team is training well and building strong combinations but with results not falling our way he is looking for the Rabbitohs to put in a big performance in a crucial game against the Sea Eagles.
"We have to keep training hard and put in a big performance on Monday," declares Sutton.
"We've been trying to train as hard as we can. We've been doing that week in and week out but haven't been putting the in performance on the weekend,
"We're looking for an 80 minute performance this week."
Sutton believes bridging the gap between strong training efforts and on-field results will come in the opening sets of the game this Monday.
"We haven't started as well as we'd like to," said Sutton.
"We've just got to nail our start and compete for the 80,
The Rabbitohs will receive a boost by the return of Bryson Goodwin to the centres after several weeks out with a broken arm.
"He's a quality player and before he got injured he was one of our best - it'll be good to have him back," said Sutton.
