This Is Home For Him Now

Amidst the hype from the NRL media about Robbie Farah coming face to face with his former team, Jason Clark and his Rabbitohs teammates have declared it is no distraction for the Rabbitohs leading into their round one clash against the Wests Tigers.

“Obviously it is a Tigers game and Robbie is a professional, I think one of the boys said earlier without there being too much hype, he will take it the right way and do what he has to do. As much as it being his old club, this is home for him now.

"I don’t think he will be putting too much pressure on himself, he has to do his job we’ve all got a job to do, if he does that right, we will be going in the right way."

With the Rabbitohs boasting two representative hookers, Clark describes Coach Michael Maguire’s position as one that is challenging yet positive.

“We’ve got Robbie (Farah) and obviously Damien Cook there as well so they’ve both had a great preseason, played plenty of footy in those trials that have happened.

“It’s a hard position for Madge to be in but it’s also a good one with two ideal hookers.”

While excitement surrounds the world of rugby league, Clark is focusing on what he can do right and not over complicating the game.

“It can be a simple game, footy.” Clark explained.

“It’s just about doing our job, what the coach gives us to do and doing it right.

“It’s just to hold that ball, run hard and make our tackles, if you make it too complicated things go a bit wrong sometimes.

“It’s a game of footy, nothing’s ever smooth sailing in a game or through the year so we’ve just got to do it right.”
