Hop to it footy fans, tickets for the Sunshine Coast NRL clash between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and New Zealand Warriors go on sale next week and an ‘early bird’ special will be available for locals and members of the Rabbitohs and Warriors.
The Round 22 clash on Saturday August 15 will be the second NRL premiership match played on the Sunshine Coast this year. The Sunshine Coast is the only regional destination in Australia to host two NRL clubs in 2020.
Rabbitohs legend John Sutton today joined Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson at Happy Valley, Caloundra to officially announce the ticket sale dates.
A special ‘early bird’ pre-sale buying window will be available through www.ticketek.com.au for 2020 Rabbitohs and Warriors members from 9am (Qld time) Tuesday 25 February to 9am on Thursday 27 February.
Sunshine Coast residents can log onto the Ticketek website from 9am Wednesday 26 February to 9am Thursday 27 February and purchase tickets using the codeword ‘SCLOCAL’.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public from 9am on Thursday 27 February.
Mayor Mark Jamieson urged local footy fans to take advantage of the ‘early bird’ ticket release to ensure they don’t miss out on the blockbuster match.
“After a sell-out match last year, we’re looking forward to another strong contingent of Rabbitohs and Warriors members in the crowd at Sunshine Coast Stadium on August 15 and we’re also keen for our local rugby league loving community to have the best chance to see live NRL right here in our region,” Mayor Jamieson said.
“Rugby league has a strong support base here on the Coast, including those who keep our local clubs running, former and current players and mums and dads who get their kids to training each week, as well as those who watch the NRL on TV every week during the season.
“The pre-sale opportunity gives them special priority access to tickets for what we hope will be another big crowd and a spectacular game,” Mayor Jamieson said.
John Sutton, who retired in 2019 as the most capped South Sydney Rabbitohs player of all time, said he’s looking forward to watching from the sidelines at Sunshine Coast Stadium in August.
Tickets start at $30 for adults, $28 concession, and $20 children. General admission family passes are available for $80.
Corporate and hospitality packages will be available. Registrations of interest can be made by contacting Sunshine Coast Stadium.
