He made headlines earlier this month as one of the most exciting prospects in both League and Union due to his physicality and skill on the pitch. Chased by numerous NRL and Rugby clubs, Tyrone Taukamo signed with the Rabbitohs and is one to watch in the coming seasons.

Taukamo is a Souths Junior. He played his junior football with the Matraville Tigers and for Coach Maguire it's a point of pride to have another South Sydney Junior product in his playing ranks.
“It’s also great to have Tyrone, as a South Sydney Junior, wanting to chase his dream as a Souths NRL player and to be bringing in more junior representative players from both Rugby League and Rugby Union to our Club can only be a good thing for South Sydney.
According to Taukamo's manager Craig Baker, the young prodigy had a lot of tempting offers for his signature but
“Despite receiving interest elsewhere, he’s decided to pursue rugby league,” said Baker.
“With the interest shown and the way the clubs courted him, it was an easy decision in the end.
“When Toulon approached him, the richest club in the world, he seriously considered it; however, with NRL clubs getting him on team buses and going above and beyond that convinced him that rugby league is the way he will develop to be the best player he can be.”
It's exciting times ahead with players like Taukamo joining the Rabbitohs alongside other potential stars such as Robert Jennings, Braidon Burns, Tyrell Fuimaono, Adam Doueihi and Cruz Topai-Aveai.
