After a bounce-back win against Cabramatta on Sunday, South Sydney Rabbitohs women's team back rower Meleanna Waters says there is still work to be done ahead of the finals.
Winning 28-14 in front of a joyous home crowd at Redfern Oval, the victory put the Rabbitohs in pole position to lock up the minor premiership next weekend, but Waters said that the team hasn't been focusing on the accolades.
"The job now is to just focus on the next game and finish off strong," said Waters.
"We don't really worry much about the minor premiership, we figure if we get the job done against North Sydney next week the minor premiership will take care of itself."
After a busy month, which saw the Rabbitohs form slump after their blistering start to the season, the team were back in full swing ahead of their clash with Cabramatta, which was a refreshing feeling for Waters.
Definitely, we had a bit of a rough patch over the last month," Waters explained.
"It was the first week that we had everyone back which helped us get back into our rhythm and we just dug in like we did during the off-season."
Motivated by a special NAIDOC Week, it was a vital time for the Rabbitohs to turn their form around with one just one game remaining before finals, which Waters can't wait for.
"It was a really special round for us with it being NAIDOC Week but it was a good win," said Waters.
"Hopefully we do our job next weekend and get the week off to rest and recover and go in fresh into the finals."
