The Rabbitohs SG Ball Cup under 19s men’s team have scored a very convincing 52 points to four victory over fellow top-four team, the Balmain Tigers, at Redfern Oval as they head into the second half of their competition for the season.
South Sydney ran in nine-tries-to-one including a double to big forward Elijah Keung to cement their spot in the top-four.
First half tries to halfback Matthew Humphries, five-eighth Taj Alvarez and winger Jacob Fong set up a 16-4 half time lead.
The Rabbitohs would go on to pile on six second-half tries, including the double to Keung and further tries to Winger Joshua Ballard, centre Dayne Jennings, front-rower Johannes Logan and interchange back Tylan Berryman, to crack the half century on the dying moments of the match.
Humphries and Alvarez controlled the game from the halves, with the middle forwards in Keung, Logan and Maddax Fui dominating the centre third of the field.

The Rabbitohs Harold Matthews Cup under 17s boys’ team went down to fellow top-four team, the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, 24 points to 12 at Redfern Oval, their first defeat of the season.
The Rabbitohs led 8-4 at the half-time break courtesy of tries five-eighth Payton Tarau and interchange hooker Charlie Bateup. They also scored first in the second half through winger Robert Simms, however the Sea Eagles came over the top of them, scoring three converted tries in the final nine minutes to snatch the victory.
Tarau, Bateup and interchange player Jahzelle Lokeni were the best for South Sydney, as they look to bounce back into the winner’s circle in round six.

The Rabbitohs Tarsha Gale Cup under 19s women’s team struggled against the Indigenous Academy team, going down 46 points to six on the Central Coast.
The Indigenous Academy led 46 points to nil before halfback Kiara McGregor scored a try with three minutes left on the clock.
Mequynne Logan led the way in the front row for South Sydney with some strong runs, but it was to no avail against the Indigenous Academy side.

The Rabbitohs Lisa Fiaola Cup under 17s team had a very difficult day in Woy Woy in round five, going down 84 points to six against the Central Coast.
South Sydney trailed 46-6 at half time with hooker Remy Roper scoring for the Rabbitohs.
The Central Coast went on with it in the second half, outscoring the Rabbitohs 15 tries to one in the end.
Winger and captain Lani Anderson did her best to lead the side with some strong runs, but the Central Coast side were too slick for the young Rabbitohs girls on this occasion.
