The South Sydney Rabbitohs will play 16 premiership games in Sydney and its surrounds next year in a welcome return to matches closer to their home base in 2024, as was revealed when the NRL announced the 2024 Telstra Premiership Draw today.
The Rabbitohs will play at least nine home games at Accor Stadium, with another home game – Indigenous Round in round 12 – to be played at either Accor Stadium or Allianz Stadium, depending on stadium availability due to the potential for the A-League Grand Final to be played at either venue.
BREAKING DOWN THE DRAW
The Rabbitohs are on the road for the first three rounds, taking on the Sea Eagles in the season opener in Las Vegas before heading to Brisbane to take on the Broncos in round two and to Allianz Stadium in South Sydney territory in round three against our archrivals, the Roosters.
The Rabbitohs will then play three straight home matches at Accor Stadium against Bulldogs on Good Friday, followed by the Warriors and Sharks on consecutive Saturdays, before having their first bye in round seven.
The red and green’s next opponent will be the Storm in Melbourne in the iconic ANZAC Day match, followed by a home fixture against the reigning premiers, Penrith. In round ten the Rabbitohs will take on the Dragons at Kogarah’s Netstrata Jubilee Stadium before the Club looks to maintain its unbeaten record during the NRL’s Magic Round with a home fixture against the Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium.
Round 12 will be the spectacular Indigenous Round celebrations against the Eels before the Club has its second bye in round 13 prior to State of Origin Game I.
Between Origin I and II, South Sydney will play the Titans away, the Broncos at home at Accor Stadium, followed by a home clash with the Sea Eagles.
Between Origin II and III, the Rabbitohs will have a bye in round 17 before taking on the Eels away and the Dolphins at Kayo Stadium in Redcliffe.
Following Origin III, the Rabbitohs will only leave the Sydney region once to head to the nation’s capital to play the Raiders in round 21. In round 20, South Sydney will play the Tigers at home at Gosford’s Industree Group Stadium, the Sharks away in round 22, the Storm at home in round 23, the Tigers in Campbelltown in round 24, the Knights at Accor Stadium in round 25, the Panthers in Penrith in round 26 and the Roosters for the Ron Coote Cup in the final round at home at Accor Stadium in a Friday night blockbuster.
