Historic Redfern Oval to become the home of the Rabbitohs Institute - the educational arm of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The Rabbitohs Institute of Sports Management delivered by TAFE NSW is now accepting applications for the July 2025 midyear intake. There’s never been a more exciting time to jump into our unique 11-month dual Diploma program. Set across two iconic locations - the historic Redfern Oval and the state-of-the-art USANA Rabbitohs Centre at Heffron Park in Maroubra - students are learning the business of sport right in the heart of where the action happens.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Rabbitohs are transforming Redfern Oval, a symbol of the Club’s proud history, into a modern education and training space for developing the next generation of sports professionals.

“We are incredibly proud to see Redfern Oval, the spiritual home of the Rabbitohs, evolve into a place of learning and opportunity through the Rabbitohs Institute of Sports Management, delivered by TAFE NSW,” Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly said.

“To welcome another cohort of passionate students who will study, grow, and build their careers here is something truly special. “It is a powerful way to honour our history while investing in the future of the sports industry.”

Students do not just learn in classrooms; they live the experience. Whether it is behind-the-scenes with the football department, assisting in community programs and corporate events, or supporting game day operations, every student completes hands-on work experience across the Rabbitohs organisation.

The first cohort of students has already hit the ground running, bringing passion and curiosity to every aspect of their learning.

“Through my work experience studying at the Rabbitohs institute, I had the amazing opportunity to meet some of the Rabbitohs' sponsors,” Piper Sutton, current student at the Rabbitohs Institute of Sports Management, delivered by TAFE NSW said.

“Getting a behind-the-scenes look at how partners support the club was eye-opening and inspiring.

“It gave me a real taste of the professional sports industry and how important relationships are off the field.”
