Harold Matts’ Finals Charge Continues with Senior Pathways Playing Bulldogs

The South Sydney Rabbitohs’ Harold Matthews Cup team will continue their charge towards a Grand Final berth when they take on the Illawarra Steelers in their sudden death semi-final this weekend, whilst the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup teams take on the Bulldogs on Good Friday.

Having defeated the sixth-placed Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in their elimination final on Sunday, the Rabbitohs’ Harold Matthews Cup under 17s boys’ team will play the minor premiership-winning Illawarra Steelers in their semi final match to be played at Leichhardt Oval at 3:45pm on Saturday 19 April. The winner will progress to week three of the finals and a preliminary final berth for a shot at playing in the Grand Final in a fortnight’s time.

In round seven of the NSW Cup open men’s and Jersey Flegg Cup under 21s men’s competitions, the Rabbitohs will play the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs on Good Friday 18 April. The NSW Cup fixture will be the curtain raiser to the NRL match between the same two teams at 1:45pm at Accor Stadium, whilst the Jersey Flegg Cup game will be played at 11am at Belmore Sports Ground.

The South Sydney SG Ball Cup under 19s men’s team have earned a weekend off following their extra-time victory over the Canberra Raiders in week one of the finals, progressing straight through to a preliminary final with a shot of heading to the Grand Final with a win in next week’s match against a soon-to-be-determined opponent.
