On Friday, 28th February, Leah Gerrard and Jayden Simms wrapped up their amazing year-long journey with a celebration to remember, marking the end of their Artist in Residence Program. They've grown so much as artists this past year—it's been amazing to see and all made possible with the support and dedication of William Buck.
The evening was hosted by William Buck, who led an auction event featuring the stunning works created by both participants during their residency. Leah, a talented and emerging artist, presented an impressive collection of 12 breathtaking artworks, each telling a unique story. At the same time, Jayden shared six stunning and unique pieces. Together, their work showed just how much talent grew during their time in the program.
The auction proved to be a great success, with both artists walking away empty-handed, as every single piece was sold. The huge support from the attendees showed just how much people appreciated the artists and their work. The event wasn’t just a celebration of their achievements—it also highlighted the potential Leah and Jayden have in the art world.
Brittney Simpson, Nanga Mai Marri Mentor“To see these young artists blossom into the confident, skilled individuals they are today is the greatest reward, we are so proud of how far they've come and can’t wait to see where their talent takes them next.
Over the year, William Buck has done more than just give these artists a place to share their work—they’ve been there to support, guide, and encourage them. Whether it’s offering helpful advice on the business side of art or creating a space where creativity can thrive, they’ve truly gone above and beyond for young artists.

Leah and Jayden received incredible support from William Buck during their residency, making it a meaningful and important step in their careers. A huge thank you to William Buck for providing this opportunity and supporting young artists. This event wasn’t just the end of a great year—it marked the beginning of an exciting future for Leah and Jayden in the art world!
