Last Friday participants in the Liverpool Opportunity Hub attended a Souths Cares match-day function in recognition for their continued engagement with their education, training and employment.

Year 12 students and HSC graduates from 2022 were invited to the Champions Room at Accor stadium for a catered, VIP event to watch the Rabbitohs' Round 27 NRL game.

For the Year 12 students it was the perfect opportunity to relax and take their minds off study pressures with their HSC exams commencing next month. Students from James Busby High School, Good Samaritan Catholic College, Ashcroft High School and Lawrence Hargrave School enjoyed the social outing despite the result not going the way of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Rhys Wesser, Careers and Education Pathways Advisor

The Opportunity Hub has 17 students sitting their HSC this year who have all worked hard to get this far. We are looking forward to supporting them through their upcoming exams and then supporting their pathways into tertiary education, training or employment after school.

Charlize Natividad is a Year 12 student at Good Samaritan College who has become a strong leader within her school and has a bright future ahead of her. Charlize explained it was nice to recognised for her commitment to education along with her peers.

"Our group of girls from Good Samaritan College had a great time watching the footy from the Champions Room. It was nice to rewarded for being part of the Liverpool Opportunity Hub and connect with Year 12 students from other schools", Charlize said.

The Liverpool Opportunity Hub is proudly supported by Training Services NSW.
