70 years ago to the day Clive Churchill captained the Kangaroos to a memorable Ashes victory.

It was the first time the Kangaroos had won it since 1920.

Despite going down to Great Britain 6-4 in the first Test, they levelled the series in the second defeating the Lions 15-3.

Of the three tries scored in that second Test Match, two came from Rabbitohs in Les Cowie and Johnny Graves and both Graves and Churchill kicked a goal each.

Then on the 22nd of July 1950, with the series tied at one-apiece, the decider was claimed by the Kangaroos in a low scoring affair. Churchill kicked another goal in their 5-2 victory!
