Rabbitohs extend contract of Siliva Havili until at least the end of 2025
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are delighted to announce the contract extension of international forward Siliva Havili for a further two seasons today.
Havili will be wearing the famous red and green jersey of the Rabbitohs until at least the end of the 2025 season with this extension, well earned after his first season playing for South Sydney in 2022.
Havili, 29, has played 127 NRL matches so far in his career, including 23 games for South Sydney, since making his debut for the Warriors in 2014.
Siliva has gone on to play 15 Tests for Tonga and one Test match for New Zealand over the past ten seasons.
Havili says he has made a home here at South Sydney.
“The family and I have really enjoyed the move to Sydney, especially to this Club in South Sydney,” Havili said.
Siliva HaviliThe goal is to win a premiership and I truly believe we can do that here at the Rabbitohs in the next few years.
“The Members and fans have been great to me, as have the Club and the staff.
“It’s really exciting times and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the coming years.”
Rabbitohs Head of Football, Mark Ellison, says he is very pleased to be working alongside Havili for a further two years.
“Siliva had a great year for us in 2022, showing his utility value throughout the forward pack and providing punch for us whether he starts the game or comes off the interchange bench,” Mr Ellison said.
“He has also proven to be a leader amongst the squad, particularly with the young Pasifika players at our Club. He was a leading force behind our round three fundraising efforts for the tsunami-affected people of Tonga last season and he provides great guidance and strength for young guys like Keaon Koloamatangi, Davvy Moale, Josiah Karapani and Daniel Suluka Fifita.
“We’re all excited to see him extend his time here at the Rabbitohs and we’re looking forward to seeing him rip in again in 2023 and beyond.”
