The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce their squad for NRL Multicultural Round five against the Sydney Roosters to be played this Friday 4 April at 8pm at Accor Stadium in the first leg of the Ron Coote Cup for season 2025.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Wayne Bennett has named Latrell Mitchell to return to the side for his game this season. Lachlan Hubner also returns following the completion of his suspension.
Round five has been designated as the first leg of the Ron Coote Cup for the 2025 season, a trophy named in honour of Rugby League’s 14th Immortal and South Sydney and Eastern Suburbs legend, Ron Coote AM.
Mr Coote won six premierships and played in nine Grand Finals during his 15 seasons playing first grade with both clubs. The Ron Coote Cup is played across both home and away fixtures in any given season, with the winner determined by the aggregate score from those two regular season matches.
2025 will be the 19th time for which the Ron Coote Cup has been contested, with both clubs having held the Cup on nine occasions each.
To celebrate Multicultural Round, Brolga Dance Company and the Tonga Parish Kelesi Youth Group will be performing pre-game, celebrating two of the many and varied cultures that make up the South Sydney Rabbitohs family.
Rabbitohs fans can collect one of 15,000 free Rabbitohs flags courtesy of MG Motor as they enter the gates on Friday night, as well as picking up their free Try cards courtesy of USANA. Ingenia Holiday Parks are also giving away free pairs of bunny ears to cheer on the Rabbitohs in style!
Kids can have their faces painted and show off their passing skills at the inflatable pass-the-ball, and don’t forget that if you catch a ball in the crowd on Friday night, you can swap it for a brand new Ingenia Holiday Parks footy!
MG Motor will also be showcasing their brand new Hybrid+ range of vehicles with a spectacular light show at half time!
