Rabbitohs centre Kiana Takairangi has taken out the Player of the Year award for the 2024 Harvey Norman NSW Premiership season, awarded at the Rabbitohs Awards night on Saturday.
Takairangi played in nine of the Rabbitohs’ 11 matches this season, scoring five tries in the process.
The New Zealand, Cook Islands and former NRLW player played mainly centre throughout the season, however she also played the pivotal role of fullback on three occasions.
Her experience was invaluable to coach Jason Dorahy’s side throughout 2024, alongside fellow international, State of Origin representative and NRLW player, Maddie Studdon, who not only captained the team this year, but also took out the Best Back award for season 2024.
Two graduates from the Rabbitohs under 19s Tarsha Gale Cup team took out the other awards, with Shanelle Lyons winning the Players’ Player award voted on by her teammates, with Nancy Sullivan winning the Best Forward award for this season.
The side finished the season in ninth place with four wins for the year.
Congratulations to all of the winners of awards for the 2024 Harvey Norman NSW Premiership season
