The Rabbitohs SG Ball Cup under 19s men’s team have suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 26 points to 16 to another undefeated team, the Parramatta Eels, away from home in round four of their competition.
The Rabbitohs led 16-nil after just 15 minutes through tries to Josh Ballard, Lance Tovio and Matthew Humphries, and they led 16-4 at half time, but errors and discipline cost the young men in red and green in the second half, with the Eels scoring 22-unanswered second half points to steal the victory.
Big forward Elijah Keung led the way for South Sydney with Jacob Fong and Dayne Jennings also working very hard in the backline.

In the Tarsha Gale Cup under 19s women’s match, the Rabbitohs fell to the Illawarra Steelers 40 points to 10 at Redfern Oval.
In a scoreline which did not reflect the effort put in by the South Sydney women, the Rabbitohs trailed 22 points to nil at the half time break, and 28-nil early in the second half, before April Chappell bagged a second half double to reduce the deficit to 18. However, two further tries to the Steelers sealed the win for the visitors from the south coast of NSW.
Kiara McGregor was rated the Rabbitohs best, laying on the tries for Chappell in the second stanza.

It was an afternoon to forget for the Rabbitohs Lisa Fiaola Cup under 17s girls’ squad, going down 60 points to nil to the Illawarra Steelers on home turf.
The Steelers led 36-nil at the half time break and went on with it in the second half to score a convincing victory.
Front rower Marleya Elekana tried hard all morning for the Rabbitohs but it was to no avail on this occasion.

The Harold Matthews Cup under 17s boys’ squad remain on top of the ladder with an undefeated start to their season, having enjoyed the bye in round four.
